a week off and...

Ok let's see what have i been doing this last week.... A whole heck of a lot of nothing... except for healing... I loved being home im not going to lie... I actually enjoy hanging out with the dog... If given more time i am sure i could've found a great routine and gotten everything handled here.... but i know right now i have to return to work and that for now is my role is to be a working wife... bringing home some bacon and just hoard my money as much and best as i can... I have to... It is better to save, save and save some more...
I understand not everybody has that luxory... if you get that opportunity you should do what you can with putting as much money away as you possibly can... I Understand that i am very fortunate and lucky to be in the position that i am in... That we both have jobs and that we own our own place...
However we are so upside down in this place that was supposed to be our starter outer and then in a few years would be able to sell and move into a house... That will not be happening anything soon....
So here i am socking my money away for a rainey day... we already know that we need to replace the a/c and the heater... so i am sure we will be schucking out our money on those eventually...

I so am not ready to go to bed and lay my head down to sleep... cause then i have to get up early to go to work... I am not one to get up early by any means... Not my fave by any rate... I do love to sleep the days away... I really need to work on that... the getting up earlier in the day to get more done on my days off... I just have been such a night owl my whole life...
I was realizing today that i think before my incident that i was not living at all... i was just being... i was afraid to live my life to my potential.... I was afraid to live!!!! seriously... i was afraid to be anything but mediocre... and now i want to LIVE and DO!!! and BE ALIVE!!! when i was having one of my Gallstone attacks i seriously thought i was going to die... it was the day i had an appt with urgent care to be checked out... I was in tears and i know that the people around me in the other cars as i was driving to the ontario vineyard office thought i was nuts...
I was crying so hard and saying OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO DIE!!! I DONT WANT TO DIE YET!!! I HAVE WAY TO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!!!! seriously the pain was horrible times 100.... And i have been known to curse myself since i kept saying to Heavenly Father why did you bring me back if i cant have kids... what is it i have to live for? I have a lot to live for... I am a daughter, how awful would it be if my Mother and Father had to bury a child? I know i am not a child, Child but i am still thier child and no parent should have to outlive thier children...
I am a WIFE...My husband and I should be able to Live old together... he should'nt become a widow at the young age of 40.... I am many things... and many things yet to become... I am too young to not LIVE OUT LOUD....
So here is to my second lease on life... I am trying... It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks...
anyways here's to living and loving life...

A whole week since I divorced my gallbladder and let me just say I am quite happy!!! Can't wait to get on with the rest of my goals for 2012!!!

So that was my major event in January!!! How am I going to top it for February? I have no idea!!! I am hoping that we won't be having anything too exciting happen for the rest of the year!!!

Goals ...I have them!!!

Ok with the removal of the gallbladder, and my recovery here almost behind me (I say almost because I am still in a little bit o pain and will give to about the first Monday of February to start) start what you ask.....well as of the 6th of February to start couch 2 5k and in march I will be run/walk a 5k in Vegas with my friend Tennille!!!!

We shall see how this all plays out!!
But to run is my next goal!!! And then I don't know what at this time!!!!

My medical leave is slowely coming to a close... it has definitely been a good time off... I am feeling so much better and cant wait till i am feeling over 100% since i still have some healing to still do... I see the dr on tuesday... so we will see what he has to say... I have enjoyed hanging out at home and enjoying the house and the dog... Yes even the dog... I heart my NORTON... i have been healing for the most part nicely... Part of me is ready to go back to work and get back to helping my clients... but a smaller part of me really wants to stay home and focus on the house and family....

So as i am here typing this i am just reflecting on all thas is going on right now....

Rainy days!!!

I love rainy days!!! I just don't like having to go anywhere on rainy days!!! Like for instance being locked in an office on a rainy day chained to a desk!!!
And I think that is part of my issue at work anymore is that I feel chained to a desk and not free as an adult to get up and walk around if I need to!!! I feel like a rope is around my neck and I am stuck where I am at!!!
I don't have the creativity free flowing from me anymore!!! For the simple fact that I feel like I am suffocating!!! Yet I have tons of air around to breathe!!! Lord please help me find my purpose in life!!!
I love listening to the rain it is so peaceful and simple at the same time!!! Boy is it coming down!!! I love it!!! And I don't have to drive in it that is something that truly scares me!!!
It has been nice spending the day with norton and just trying to stay nice and warm waiting for the day to pass by for Matthew to get home!!! That is our fave time of the day!
I am grateful to have a job and wonderful people I work with who are very supportive!!! It could be a lot worse!!! I have seen a lot worse!!! I just need to find the happy place at work again and keep moving forward!!! That is all one can do right?

That is my rant for the day!!!

Surgery update

Yesterday was my outpatient surgery to remove the gallbladder!!! All went well!!! So, I shouldn't have anymore issues with gallstones and massive abdominal pain!!!
The I had to check in at Ontario vineyard outpatient center at 6am yesterday!!! All vitals were good!!! And I think around 7am or so they wheeled me into surgery!!! I awoke at 930am and was released by 1054am!!! I was so tired!!! I practically slept all day yesterday!!!
They put me on an all liquid diet for the first 24 hours!!! Liquid including jello!!! I opted this time for strawberry jello as opposed to orange jello which is what I craved for when I was in the hospital in may!!!
Dr. Ehke did an amazing job!!! My thanks go out to kaiser they are amazing!!!
I had a good support system!!! Matthew was amazing as always!!! And thank you for all my well wishers and thought and prayers on facebook!!!
I am a little sore but not as bad as my hurting from the gallstone pain or the recovery of my triple bypass!!! My gave as always is when dr.s find out I had a triple...a cabbage at 33 you are way to young!!! Hello genetic defect over here!!!smaller arteries + an unhealthy lifestyle=clogged arteries sooner!!!

I can't believe i will be going under the laproscopic knife yet again... I am so happy about getting rid of something that is so temperamental and can bring so much grief... I will also get a week or so off of work to let my body heal... which is nice... i kind of need the time off of work... getting stressed again... it will be nice to be on my own schedule and enjoy my time home and focus on myself and our house and the duties that have been neglected around here since we both work 40 hours a week plus our commutes... so really time isn't given rightfully so to our little nest we have here...
but again so excited to finally get my gallbladder out... cause i wouldn't want to be in the middle of the ocean in April on our cruise and have those excruciating pains that is so intense... and besides a cruise is a total all you can eat buffet at sea... it would be nice to try out all the food they have to offer... so we shall see how i am feeling after... My right side is feeling a little heavy these days, but not worry it should be a bit lighter come friday at 4pm.... I was finally able to eat chicken baked in the oven with black pepper, mashed potatoes, corn and brown rice to add to my other fave cantaloupe...

So I have decided

To have my gallbladder removed!!! I can no longer tolerate the pain! And the Drs. agree so since we saw the surgeon today I am set up for pre op on thursday at 3pm and then next Friday at 4pm that gallbladder of mine will no longer be a part of me!!! So looking for my divorce from it...

So yeah that is what I will de doing on my Friday night!!! Sounds like so much fun doesn't it!!! I can't wait till after no more pain! Did I mention that this pain these gallstones have caused? Worse than my recovery and surgery from my heart!!! That is how the pain it is!!!

I remember this trip to the ER

So just when things seemed to be looking up for me medically I get thrown a whammy!!! Korie by whatever to you mean? Well, tuesday night I went to bed with terrible pains in my abdomen an fall thought out my back in between my shoulder blades etc... I woke Wednesday morning feeling much better only to be in pain by 9am and it continued to get worse on a gradual basis!!! By 130pm I couldn't take it anymore and I contacted my cardiac nurse and she told me to get to urgent care and see a dr.
I did just that and the earliest they could get me in was at 250pm!!! All the way there all I could focus on was the pain and how on my God i am going to die and I was In tears! I made it to my appointment with one min to spare!
Long story short since the pain had subsided the dr misdiagnosed me and i was given pain meds and sent on my merry way!
Only to have to eat dinner and 30 mins later I was In the same pain as before!!! A call to the ontario vineyard. Nurses office and we were on our way to the ER! Yep the ER! Only other time that happened and I don't even remember going there just waking up in there!!! Was in May! So this was major for me to take something like this so seriously and I am glad I did! I have gallstones. We were checked into the
ER at 9pm and we were discharged and home by 1am!!! Longest night ever!!! Well I tried to eat better the next day but that didn't help and Thursday I went home early and then stayed home on Friday!!!
The next decision is either to remove it or leave it in!!! That being the gallbladder... Next stop talking to my primary care physician!!!

Decluttering

I have decided to attempt to declutter our lives this year!!! Started with the bathroom and man it has felt so liberating!!! I can't wait to continue throughout the year and in our home and lives.
So one of my new years resolutions is to make our lives simpler and easier... So here goes to 2012 and a simpler life!!!

So 2011 is over with!!! Happy 2012! Welcoming in a new year definitely is nice but really is anything ever changing in our lives? I mean we make resolutions but do we ever keep them?

2011 was definitely a crazy one at that.
I mean we started the year off at Disney as we always do and got passes for magic mtn. By may we were on our way to dc for Matthews birthday! The big 4-0!!! And little did we know that my heart would go out on me in the Vegas airport of all places!!!!
I can't believe that I am going into my 7th month of recovery!!!

Now onto 2012 resolutions
1. Lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle... (isn't this always #1)
2. Spend more time with our family
3. To live life to the fullest!!! (no regrets)

My Life isn't perfect…

As much as I know I live a comfortable, Good life I wouldn’t classify my life as perfect.. While Matthew and I do a lot of stuff, and trust me we do!! Our life is far from perfect! We seem to post only the good stuff cause quite frankly who wants to read about all the crap that goes on on a daily basis… I want to hear about all the fun stuff that my friends and family is doing…

However what prompted me to write this was a situation at work! There are some people who may think my life is wonderful and the grass is greener and so they are a bit jealous… And I have to say to them my life isn't all roses my dear!. I had to have a triple bypass at age 33, I died at the McCarran airport, I had pneumonia while in the hospital which delayed my surgery… Matthew and I have our fights, they are no where near epic proportions… We fight over silly stuff… and I always tease him that we don’t have real issues…

I am grateful that Matthew and I don’t drink, that we both are frugal and have a sense of money, I am grateful that We love each other, that I have found a man who loves me for all my imperfections and vice versa… I am grateful for a wonderful family, so much love… But is it perfect NO!!! Do we go on lots of trips? it seems that way… doesn’t it? we try to enjoy life and now especially since my heart attack more so…

What I want most in my life is to start a family… the one thing I really want I am not able to have… Is it sad, yes at times… Am I grateful that it didn’t happen before my surgery … YES!!! WHY… well 3 out comes come to mind… I die, baby lives #2 I live, baby dies and last but not least #3 me and the baby both die… So if you think my life is perfect please by all means come and walk in my shoes…

You can walk in them the day I found out that having a family isn't quite possible in my case, or how about the day I died at the McCarran airport, Or how about the day that I went into work and I had to deal with nastiness from fellow coworkers, or the day I found out my Grandmother passed away, whom I was extremely close to?

Granted I have many wonderful days like when I got married, we moved into our first place, Getting my job at Disney, many family functions…

Or how about on a daily basis knowing that we are upside down on the condo and we are stuck… Literally stuck in the condo in which we like… we just wish that it was in a different area… we can not move… and we have to pay HOA dues every month YUCK… never again my friend… once we can, if we ever do, next place no hoa dues…

SO please before you decide not to like me for just because… and then to give me a hard time please walk a day in my footsteps and then decide if it is worth it to give me a hard time… Bullying is just not right… I try to be a nice person… some days harder then others… Some people make it so hard to be nice to… I try to understand that everyone has a circumstance that makes them who they are… I don’t go out of my way to be mean…

Maybe you need to figure out what is not happy in your life and fix that and put all the time and effort there instead of picking on someone else to make you feel better…

I am very thankful and grateful to be here... It is so important that everywhere has an AED... they totally are life savers...

Here it is Day 7

Day 7 of our trip… of course we were going to use the rest of our passes on the trip… we wouldn’t leave each other hanging… of course after day 6 we almost spend the rest of the days separated… but we worked it all out… And had a blast… I will never live down my blisters and how this vacation wasn’t the BEST VACATION EVER!!! there is always next time… I know my Video Skills are not the greatest… I am working on it and by next vacation it should be better… Cruise in April With the CLEMSON Family… Might make a Video like the WOLF FAMILY… MAY only have some of the family, most likely the younger bunch… we are working on picking out a song… we have a little over 4 months to go…

we totally went to Disneyland on the 12th of the month… I was able to use my new camera which Matthew got for me for my birthday… so it was nice to play around with the new camera at one of our favorite places on earth… here is a picture of Matthew and I on the bobsleds… I am still trying to get the hang of the new camera… one wouldn’t think it as hard as it seems but it is… we went to Toontown and visited Goofy’s house Matthew tried his hand at the piano… we had a nice night out overall… it wasn’t too cold but not warm by any measure… that is our short story and I am sticking to it…

This is my new fave photo so much so that I have it as our wallpaper on our desktop…

Well I finally ordered my photos from CM photo Center from our Disney trip... And to announce our 2012 vacation plans... I still need to get the time off, but i am thinking i should be able to after consulting with my manager and we are going to go on a cruise to the Carribean... It will be a Family cruise with my inlaws and her brothers and thier families... so we have lots to do... Like get our passports... and such... I have to get my butt in gear and start working out and try to lose another 20 lbs.... i would love to lose more but my goal is small... I need to start getting my ZUMBA on again... so hello GYM here i come... I feel after being in my 6 month of recovery i should be able to handle doing Zumba... and it will help with my endurance and losing weight quickly... More to come...

My parents had to put one of their beloved dogs down yesterday!!! Mia was about 13 years old or so!!! She lived a long beautiful life and she will be missed!!! I was able to see her on Sunday and could tell it wasn't going to be much longer before she goes to the big doggy park in the sky!!! Her poor body had arthritis all through it!!! She is now at peace!!!

ok people... i have been gone way too long... I should have a post up tomorrow with some pictures from our wonderful disney vacation... Had a blast... Aside from the first few days where we had terrential downpours... and the mears bus was leaking as we were coming in... didnt make for a magical journey to our resort... other than that it was a great trip... I will be working on our vacation video as well as matthew is going to put one together as well... so it will be neat to see both perspectives...way too much i tell ya... we both did hit a breaking point where i think we both wanted to strangle each other... but it was a great trip...

Ten years ago a tragic event happened in this great nation... Terrorists declared was on the United States! Religious Zealots, who gave them the right to Kill innoccent people? Who let all the Mental Patients gather outside of the Looney bin...

10 years ago....

3. I hadn't met Matthew in person yet

4. I was a young vibrant 20 something with the world ahead of her....

All I remember was my Grandma waking me up at 6am saying Korie Wake up wake up!!! This was the time that the first plane hit and the news was showing it over and over again... and just watching it in horror... when that plane hit i just stood in front of the TV watching in horrific awe... Then it turned to crying, it was a very emotional day... so sad for all those people that died in the towers and for those families that had to mourn and see thier family over and over again in the plane being flown into the twin towers and the pentagon... I can't believe not one not two not three but 4 planes involved... and who were these crazies that could do this?

I just couldnt believe that this happened and still to this day... They have been reshowing the footage and on natgeo been doing play by plays and i can not watch with out crying and all the emotions coming back... and i really have to watch that since my surgery... I am so grateful that i was surrounded by my grandparents and the love on that day...

How Is Korie Doing?

First of all I am doing great for the most part… I still have some pain, more like a burning at times where my zipper is… Other than that I am healing pretty well… at the first part of July I got my hair cut and this is that I look like now… for the most part… We did this on a Saturday and just got it done… if you ask me I think it looks awesome… People are always asking me How are you feeling? everyday never fails at least 20 people… which is nice to know that I am well cared about… I am taking it day by day… and I have my occasional bad days… aren't we all allowed those…I am actually healing quite nicely… I have since gone to Disneyland on several occasions… it is good for me to get my walking in… My Friend Wendy and her Daughter Maddy took me out to dinner to the rainforest café… which is nice since Wendy and I rarely hang out aside from work… then there was the matter of Matthews INO Softball tourney… which they made it to the second day but didn’t come close to winning… Nice Try babe…We went mini golfing at scandia off the 15 I did pretty good keeping up with Matthew… but he is ultimately the better golfer…My Brother is now back in Norway… My parents got a new dog and his name is Dobby… the saved him from the Riverside humane society… They are doing adoptions of dogs for 40$ and cats for 5$ and that includes all shots a microchip and spade and neutering… and we had to say good by to our old grill since it burned itself in a small fire… and the new addition to our family is this one here… So yes I am doing good and I keep moving forward… yes I am back to work, and I cant wait till we leave for the world in October… I promise this time no running through the airport and no cardiac arrest… love you all

More of DC... this time 6 Flags DC So on our way into the DC area... i think it was more of Maryland... please be patient with me as my memory is still foggy... we decided to eat at Ruby Tuesdays... we love their food... their burgers are awesome...they are a bit more on the expensive side but it is a rare treat for us and since we were on vacation we decided to splurge...We finally made it to 6 Flags DC and Matthew was a happy camper...We went on several coasters... Such as Jokers Jinx which is the purple and green machine to the side here... and then the man of steel, a roaring rapids type ride... As i remember we had a great time... Some rides are the same and mostly they were different... the park is all flat which was a plus in my book I apologize i think some of the pictures are out of order... still trying to find my groove in the blogging world again... i know it's not that hard... c'mon Korie you can do this... its easy... right..They had a ride there that was a water ride called skull rock... Would you believe that the music played was the pirates of the Caribbean music?I about died right there...blatant copyright infringement... whatever... it was only open for about an hour before it broke down...Matthew went on a few more rides than i did... he went on their wooden coaster ROAR We got our picture taken with a bunch of characters We took a few breaks... here Matthew is waiting for Skull rock to open up...Which took forever... Matthew on the Roaring rapids ride... Where he got wet big time...All in all we had a great time... I skipped this ride right here... I was getting tired and who knew that my health was deteriorating... I definitely know when to listen to my body... it was a fun trip... I wish while i was on my LOA from work i wouldve felt more compelled to sit at the computer and type my thoughts and be able to update more frequently on here... However i was a bum and was still trying to recover from my wonderful triple bypass surgery... darn those genetics giving me narrower arteries... darn me for plugging them up faster.... I am now going onto my second week of being back to work... I certainly enjoyed my time off and was able to be surrounded by my family, the extended family, and enjoy some of the summer... I was able to attend the In N Out softball tourney for the first time this year... which was held in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley... the Irvine team made it to day 2, but didnt survive past that... i am working on the Video from our trip... redoing it with the new editing program i got... and i still need to scrapbook the last 3 trips we have been on... I am a slacker... i have a better energy about me, but since i am aging i still need a nap here and there to reenergize...
I have been thinking more about life and the many blessings that we have in our life since i have met death and he was a gracious host for the time i came for the visit, (not that i remember, but i am going to go with he was nice to me) it has really got me thinking of everything in my life and the many experiences i have gone through and the ones i have missed out on... I have a few regrets... Espicially one in particular of the heart... I know now that everything works out for a reason... and i ended up with the one i am supposed to spend my the rest of my life with... Even though he doesnt tell me on a constant basis, He does his best... He surprises me with presents that arent asked for and he thinks that i dont appreciate what he does for me...and maybe i am a bit harsh on him... I love him and since this whole brush with death and me having to be in a medically induced coma, the pnuemonia and then the surgery, plus the recovery, Not many men wouldve been able to handle that, and he was my superman so strong and was there holding my hand every step of the way...
so onto week 2 day 2 lets see how this one turns out...
next post i will fill you in on Cabrillo Beach and the Scouts... i had fun...
I would hope and pray now that once i am fully recovered we will be blessed with some bundles of joy... It is a little quiet around here and i would love to hear the pitter patter of little feet... if not then I know not what my purpose is for coming back from a blessed place that i couldve been in peace...
I give my trust and faith unto my Heavenly Father and i surrender it all to him... For now when my time comes again and i am there to stay i will be ready, for i am not afraid...
Friends and family please do not read into this that i am giving up and wish that i didnt survive... I am so grateful for my angels that surrounded me that day at the airport... I am just still finding my purpose... and i know the answer i have gotten in return is for me to recover and focus on my recovery and at the right time i will be given my purpose...
I thought by now that i would be a mommy and yet that ship has not sailed with me and Matthew on that Journey of having our own family and making a child out of half Matthew and half Korie... I truely believe in the power of miracles and of prayer and how awesome it is...

Why I hate the STATE OF CALI EDD program

Lets see where the Heck do I begin… Maybe it is the state of CALIFORNIA…All the Paperwork… all the nonsense..> Stupid HIPPA laws… did you know that the only two states in the UNION who will not deal directly with your employers disability department is Rhode Island and oh big surprise here CALIFORNIA… Sign this to give permission, sign that…. I AM DONE WITH ALL THE GOD DAMN PAPERWORK… ISNT it enough that I died, due to cardiac arrest, heart attack whatever you want to call it, and had surgery and now I have to deal with paperwork that is such a nuisance, when I should be focused on rehab and recovery…Way to go on making my recovery worry and stress free… I thought we were a state of GREEN… WHERE THE HELL ARE THE HIPPIES those tree hugging ones… how many trees have to die for me?

it would've been nice if the EDD (disability dept. for the state) would've talked to Aetna… they had all the info on file… I guess it is a good thing that Kaiser is able to help a bit… this process has not been an easy one… and I am sorry if I am complaining… I am dealing with Matthews FMLA paperwork and guess who we have to go through on that one? EDD… and the stupid DR. at Desert Springs only allowed him to get paid for 1 hour a day while I was in the hospital… Idiot should've read 8 hours cause yeah even if he wanted to go to work he couldn’t… WE WERE IN VEGAS AND WE LIVE AND WORK IN CALIFORNIA…

I mean sometimes I think that it would've been better off if I didn’t survive… since there would be less paperwork… and less of a headache… so not only do I have to deal with Kaiser and the out of state crap there, now I have to deal with Aetna and the state for the same exact crap… double work… I HATE THIS STATE…

And they (the state of California and the workers) wonder why we hate them and this once great state… You sure don’t make it easy for us to like you all… I guess to you it is job security and more money that the tax payers are paying out who cares its not your money… right… the state causes more headaches and heartaches than are worth it… I really do hope that southern California is able to secede from our pinko commi government of this state… the Liberals can have the north and LA and ruin it even further…

While i am usually on top of things and would've had the trip posted by now, i dont want you all to think that i am a slacker, I was admitted to the desert springs hospital in vegas on may 15th (yes mothers day... Happy Mommys day to my mom) anyways i basically had a heart attack and died but was revived... If you want to read more click here at Santa Ana firemen save my life... so i contracted pneumonia and they had to postpone my surgery.... i was in a medically induced coma for 3 days.... which this was all more scary for my friends and family than it was for me.... as i didnt know what was going on... anyways i am now going into my 6th week of recovery... i dont remember what happened from the time we boarded at the Baltimore airport to well lets just say i remember bits and pieces from the hospital...
I had narrower arteries in my heart than normal people and 2 were 100% clogged and one was at 80% clogged... Desert springs is rated #1 in the country for cardiology and so i was definitely in good hands...

if you havent guessed it by now but in October we are going to Walt Disney World... we went from not going anywhere for a vacation this year to two vacations... we have the plane tickets bought... yes we have... and we have a good idea of where we want to stay... definitely will be on property... considering if you stay you can use the magical express which picks you up from the Airport and then takes you back and you get to check in at the resort that you are staying at...
while doing our research of the different resorts we discovered that part of the WDW resort is in Osceola county and the other part is in Orange county... and it just so happens that in Osceola county that the room tax is half a percent more than in Orange county... WTH!!!! well the resort that we were thinking of staying (the all star movie) is now looking like a no... since the all star resorts are located in Osceola county... looking like Pop century again... I am waiting a few more weeks or month or so since i am hoping there will be some sort of deal coming soon for the time that we are going... maybe a moderate resort at 30% off ... who knows...
anyone have any disney advice for a trip to the world?
Even though this will be our 3rd time i still like to get others opinions...

Sorry that it has been awhile since i blogged... and life just gets so busy lately... I cant seem to say that enough... anyways here is what has been happening... this last week or so...
oh boy Matthew came home sick last week... so all last weekend he was trying to get better... and lo and behold i caught whatever he picked up at work and i have been not feeling so well... My ears, my throat, my nose all aching... Tired... still went to work... i know shame on me... it seems like every one is getting sick anyways at work... I so am not happy... if it was any other weekend but this weekend... we have a big Girl scout event... and we are taking my father in law out for dinner for his birthday... I dont like getting sick... but i really dont know who does... I so want to feel better again... And since i know who got my hubby sick i will be getting you back when you arent looking... GRRR... Made for one grumpy hubby last weekend and two grumpy adults this whole week.. this is the first time in a few days that i have stayed up past 8pm...
I should be in bed... Again tomorrow is going to be a very long day... it wont end until about 8am on sunday morning... I have had a total of about 7 bloody noses... I suppose that seems to be because i have been blowing my nose for the last 4 days... so i guess it is bound to happen...
anybody else have to deal with this nonsense of this illness this last month or so? what have you done to deal with it and get better?

crazy weekend

Boy did we have a whirl wind of a weekend... Lets see since Matthew seems to still celebrate LENT that means he doesnt eat meat on fridays... So i thought that we could go out to dinner (did i mention i was way exhausted on friday, so much so i was pratically falling asleep at my desk) anyways i thought it would be easier to just go out to eat... Well we cant just go out to eat, we have to go to Disneyland as well... so we ate at Don Jose's over by our old apartment in fullerton... then off to the magic kingdom which we were home by 930 pm ... so i cant complain too badly... i mean we did have a good time afterall...we get home and i go straight to bed, that is how exhausted i was...
Saturday we went over to my inlaws after lunch... we had to get our taxes done... we actually got more back this year than the previous which i guess is good... We celebrated my brother in laws birthday which he turned the big 3-5 as of tuesday the 22nd... and then we didnt get home till like 9pm and off to bed we went once again(i may have snuck in some of cityville on facebook along with watching a bit of tv)...
Sunday...
we left the house around 920am and we headed all the way to valencia to hang out at magic mtn... the main reason why Mr. Schultz wanted to go back to MM was due to the SUPERMAN ride since now it goes BACKWARDS well guess what it never opened today i said NEVER... and that made for one Frustrated MR SCHULTZ... we did ride the orient express, Goliath, and Ninja... we had lunch there... but most of the time spent waiting and waiting and waiting on the darn SUPERMAN ride... yep... we went to the grocery store and got dinner and then came home... where we are now fans of Bert the Conquerer... and then had a late dinner and now i am still up way past my bed time... I didnt want to get up this morning... I do this stuff to make Mr. Schultz happy... and i am hoping he was happy this weekend... He sure does enjoy making me tired and on the go all the time...
Anyways that was our weekend...

well we were supposed to be getting more rain as of this morning (11am) so it finally made it this evening... It seems as though we have gotten so much rain... which i love... something so cleansing of the rain... i love the sound of the rain and the feel of it... it gets warm then cold then warm and then cold... it has been a welcome change all this rain which for the mountains equates to snow... and boy has our mountains gotten a lot of snow... anyways how is the weather going in your neck of the woods?

Today was the last day that you can buy Girl scout cookies via booth sales... Yep 2011 cookie sales is coming to an end... We have at least two of our girls attending the 500 event... yep i said it 500 boxes of cookies sold... of the two the other one will be attending the 1000 event... i said it 1000 boxes of cookies... that is a lot cookies... I am sad yet at the same time extremely happy for this cookie season to be over with... Cookie "mom" is a full time job... Working a full time job and then cookies (another full time job) has been keeping me stressed and busy... Working booth sales with my girls selling about 500 cookies or so just from those...
I am thinking next year for one i am not taking this job... I am thinking I shouldnt hog this position and I should let one of our parents step up and enjoy the cookie duties... I am officially stepping down... More intense than what i signed up for...
This point in my life i need to have a little less stress... Our girls did an awesome job of selling cookies... we did several booth sales and we only had one girl not sell at one... which is pretty good since we have 8 girls and two are in 6th grade and the rest are in 7th grade... They have earned the cookie pin... They are really awesome girls and i am truely a much better person for having known them...
Well that has been what is going on as of late... and hopefully i will be able to catch up up on some other stuff... soon! PS i hope you all got your cookies... cause they are going away until next year...

been to busy to breath lately... i mean really with the girl scout cookie season to be in full swing, i have been too busy ... I love the scouting program but this cookie troop chair position is really a full time job in amongst it self...I just wish i had more time to devote to it... I hate having to balance things in life... My husband hates that we have cookies everywhere in the car right now... i am super busy with booth sales on the weekend... i am glad that it is starting to wind down... next year i am not going to be able to do this... i dont have the time to give it 100% like i like to give...
I drove from brea (work) to pick up some cookies to exchange (12 cases of thin mints) in rowland heights to then drive to arcadia... and then home... not only did i exchange gookies i also pickedup some more for our girls to sell... i think we will be having 3 more booth sales... the cookies are no longer on sale as of the 20th of the month...
I have been tired and i dont seem like i have had a break at all this week... I feel bad for the girls and my coleader... She is pulled in even more directions... so between the both of us we are busy in general... i think i need to go to bed for a year or so...
anyways that is where i have been... what has everyone been up to?

Matthew and I had a great time off together on Friday… it was starting to be cloudy out again … As we were making our way out and so I had to take a picture of the clouds by over our house… the rain was on its way… while we were on our way down to Anaheim to the Scrapbook Expo(for me) and for Matthew to Disneyland… I had a good time but not as good as if I was with the girls… it was sprinkling by the time I made it into the convention center and there was tons of water everywhere… I called Matthew about 2 hours after he dropped me off to come pick me up… I didn’t want to spend anymore money and I was done… so he picked me up… now what well we had an Appointment at 3pm in Fontana… so we went to the Flame Broiler in Ontario Mills for lunch and then headed to the the mall for some walking around… when we came out it was a huge downpour… So yeah that was our Friday… One of the longest days ever…

Since my Brother Andrew got married to Sara we decided to have a girls night out on Saturday the 22nd of January… My Cousin Krista came out and we all went shopping and then out to dinner at Chili’s (yes that is one of our fave restaurants as of late)… And this is the photo from the end of our evening… it is always fun with Krista… it was nice to have a girls night… Would've been nicer to spend a little bit more time with my future sister in law and really gotten to know here… For those that don’t know Sara is from NORWAY… so this was one of the very few times we have gotten together in the 3 weeks that they were here visiting… I wish them the best of luck… Being Married is not always easy… it is like walking a tight rope you have to be very careful of how you approach situations, and how you treat the other person and be willing to make a ton of compromises… the world is not revolving around yourself anymore now, your world is revolving around making someone else happy and making them a better person… and vice versa…

Today just maybe the day i loose it... Seriously!!!! this weekend has been good so far... even work went with out a hitch for the most part... went to a birthday party after work...
I am hoping that we have enough people to help transport the 2400 boxes of cookies... I don't have anyplace to store these cookies... If i bring them home my hubby will kill me... yeah you will hear about that one on the news... we have no place to put them... This is the big concern right now for me... I just barely got up around 845am... I went to bed somewhere between 9pm and 10pm last night... I am concerned that it will be raining when we pick up the cookies, i am concerned that not all the parents will pick up their cookies, and i am concerned that we will not have enough drivers to pick up the cookies... we are picking up a little over 100 cases...
This is the day that we pick them up from the warehouse... this is the day that i could very much loose my mind... I have been stressing, yes me i do stress (alot actually)... I just want everything to be perfect... I know that nothing ever is... I told myself last year that i wouldn't do the cookie chair job for our troop and i ended up doing it again... no parent stepped up... if i didn't step up the girls wouldn't be selling the cookies... this seriously is my last year... i can not do this anymore... I DON'T HAVE A GIRL IN SCOUTING... how do i get stuck with the job... as much as it is a privilege it is a job... I mean GIRL SCOUT COOKIES are like an American institution... carrying on a long tradition...
we say it every year that we need a parent to step up... and both years we had the same one and they backed out of it... which i somewhat understand the why... Giving of ourselves to others is a gift that oneself can give to ourselves... This is just one of the parts i really don't look forward to... The being in charge, the ordering(do we have enough), the money part... etc, etc, etc...
enough of me venting... I really do enjoy my time with the scouts... If we don't get more parent involvement then i don't know what we are going to do...
So yeah... right now i have a lot going on in my head... so please excuse me if i am a bit absent minded... among other words to describe me at this time...
Oh and first 5 Boothe sales that we are going to do... so Stress city is where i will be...
Hope you all are buying at least one box to support the scouts... (not neccessarly our troop but any girl scouts... it is important that we do so...

Well i havent lost it yet... Still going strong and it is like 3am the only thing i am working on that is stressing me out is wait for it ... the Darn 4x6 cards with some info that we need for the international day... they wont print the way i need them too... anyways love you all

Yes we did it again… we bought 6 flags magic mountain passes yet again… and yes this is the first that I have had a chance to write about it… we went sometime in January (I think it was the 30th) it was a Sunday… we only stayed a few hours and got our passes and rode a few rides… this should give a bit of a hint as to where we will be in May…Oh and we got our picture taken with these two… so yeah it was a crazy day… it rained on the way up and partially on the way home, yet was dry the whole time we were there… we hit up Goliath, Batman, Riddlers Revenge, Apocalypse and X2… all in all it was a good day… Oh and we stopped to eat at Chili’s on the way home (I think)… it was a nice day…

how is your february going so far? as you had hoped and planned? This last weekend we really didnt do much of anything except maybe a load of laundry... It was a do nothing kind of weekend... While i was able to get some digital scrapbooking done that was about it... We did catch the last few mins of the SUPER BOWL... We are not really big superbowl fans... not even big football fans... I am glad that GreenBay won... I have family from there... I mean it is kind of hard to root for a team that has such a huge douche bag on thier team (ben rothsinberger?) but you all know who i am talking about... I cant wait to see the Cheeseheads win more super bowls (i know this is like thier 4th time there) it is neat to see the underdogs win... They were a good team... Way to go Greenbay...

I am doing the project life by Becky Higgins you can check out some of my progress over at Creativity shared my creative outlet... however instead of using the Becky Higgins version i am creating my own... Using tons of my own supplies... So basically i journal everyday and try to take a picture a day... this is taking scrapbooking to a whole new level... I cant wait till i have it complete...
On a side note...
Tomorrow is super bowl, anyone have any big plans... More than likely we will stay home... we dont have any teams to root for, except if i was rooting for a team it would be the Packers... I have family there... and from there...

My Friend Tennille and I both have decided to challenge each other to lose weight... We both have the Zumba game for the wii... So today as i was checking my Facebook there is it was... I something about zumba easy level routine 2 she got a 465... so i came home and did mine and i got a 408 definitely not a 465... but i am telling you it got me going... 20 mins kicked my butt... it is always nice to have a friendly compitetion to get each other in gear with losing the weight and staying on track...
Anyways anyone else have a resolution to trim up... or down...

so what are your plans for february? We have a lot going on over here... It looks like Scrapbook expo, Girl scout cookies, Scouts and then the normal to do's.... We will be setting up booth sales at the end of the month... I cant believe how fast this last month has gone by... back in december i was diagnosed with prediabetes so i have been trying to change my diet... And i just mean that i am not going on a DIEt more so a lifestyle change... I have been reading Stop Prediabetes Now and it has been very informative... On how my body works with food i put in my body and how my body breaks it down... or doesnt... so that is one of the many things that i have been up to...
I also started a new project for scrapbooking called PROJECT LIFE... and basically you take a photo a day and journal and just go from there... and make it your own... I am still going to do my regular scrapbook and just see which one is better... as i was putting in all my volunteer hours at work and well i couldnt believe with the scouts i have put in a total of 204 hours... so if last year is any indication of how busy i was with scouts for this year it will be just as busy...
So i am excited for the next 28 days... and i will take it one month at a time... what are your plans for the month? would love ot hear it all...

vacation a getaway...

we have bought the plane tickets... as much as i tried to talk Matthew into going to Vegas for his birthday and going to see George Wallace... He is a comedian that is in Vegas and Matthew has been saying for the longest time and i thought that for his birthday would be great... since we could drive there (save a charge there for plane fare)... However, Matthew had other plans... We are going to go to 3 more amusement parks and going to check out our national history and where history is made... we are going someplace that i have wanted to go and to places we have never been... Well some of them Matthew have been before... we will be going to 3 states that we have not been to before together... and most definitely i havent been too...
I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to travel even in this economy and such... We do save up our money before we go anywhere... we put all charges on a credit card (so we can get our points, and some places you have to use a credit card to reserve things) but we pay them off as we get the credit card bill...
That is one piece of advice i can give if you any is this... Please save up for whatever it is you want... make sure you have the funds... If you charge it you are going to get a charge of an APR and end up paying more than the original amount... But if you have the funds and want to charge it (so you can earn points or whatever the extras come with that) you need to pay it off once you get the bill so that way you dont earn the APR...
So I am excited cause one of the tourist attractions that we will go see (which will take about 10 mins) was something i learned about in my Art History class a few years ago... we already bought our ticket to one of the attractions of our nation... I am hoping it will be a great trip... Actually i know it will be a great trip...

So we are getting another Annual pass to another major Theme park this year so that way when we go on our trip it will be cheaper if we do this...
I think you all should write in the comments section where you think we may be going... I would love to see who can guess right....
I also want to do a Schultz family DANCE lip sync video of our trip like the Wolfe family ... any song suggestions... Thanks

already end of the month

Month one of the first year is coming to a close... It went by so fast... dont ask me why i was so pissed off the first part of the month, cause i dont even understand it... things just irritated me to no end the first few weeks... and no it was not that time of the month... i am just going to put that to rest right now...
My brother and his Fiance came in for 3 weeks from Norway and left husband and wife... My new sister in law is very nice and we welcome her to the Rieder family with open arms... (technically i am now a Schultz) (Forever in my Heart a RIEDER)... I love my Brother, he , Just like every sibling does, gets well under my skin... I mean come on let's be honest there is a slight age gap (gasp 11 years) and sometimes that feels like a million years... As my mom puts it when you are his age(as i was reminded that when i was his age) we think we know it all(and boy did i know it all) When you realize that you dont know it all that is a sign of wisdom and maturity...
It got me thinking about when i was his age... Oh boy did i think that i had my whole life in front of me... 22 going on 23... I was in the LDS Singles ward in the Whittier Stake going on my second year of being a member... and just thinking I cant wait to get married and settle down with my Eternal partner... I thought boy that would be the life, and have some kids... how hard could that be... i was so eager to get married... yet i knew my Boyfriend at the Time was not the one for me... I was working at Disneyland at the time... I enjoyed going to the young adult dances... I enjoyed my friendships and bonding... I enjoyed life all together... My Grandparents were alive, Life was grand!!! I didnt really have a care in the world...
While i didnt have to pay rent to my Grandparents i wasnt totally free of expenses... I had my car payment, my cellphone payment, car insurance, etc... I had a job and knew that not everything was going to be handed to me, that you have to work hard for things... And by this time i knew how to spend my money in a responsible way... Is it a want or a need? I always ask myself that... and then go from there... can i really afford this want... I was already socking money away into savings... (need to have money for a rainey day)
While i miss those days (so carefree and innoccent) i am glad to be where i am today... Yes i miss my grandparents, I loved them dearly... They were awesome... I have grown from those experiences and i will cherish them always...
I made some really excellent friends that are like sisters to me... I was able to go on a few trips in that time... Again I learned from my Grandma the power of saving up for things instead of relying on my credit... I remember times of KNOWING IT ALL and i didnt...
I met Matthew about a year later or so... and after dating for almost 3 years we were married... So it is nice to see someone for a few seasons and be with them to know for sure this is the right thing to do... I guess i like to think things out more and at the time i was kind of more spontanous and wouldve liked for Matthew to know sooner and gotten married sooner... Would it have made a difference, maybe not... we lived together for a year... then got married... Literally it was buy condo, kories new job, Matthews new job, Adopting Norton, Engaged, Married... Like all with in 6 months.... It was pretty crazy when it did happen... all while i wasnt looking.... just like that a major change in our lives, several changes...
Growing up is hard to do sometimes... No one really wants to grow up then that means that we are old... I totally must be a prude and an old lady... I used to not be as uptight as i am today... dont ask me why... Maybe because everyone was telling me to grow up and become an adult... sometimes i really dont feel like an adult and that i am an imposter and someone will find me out... somewhere down the line a stick got shoved up my rear...and i really dont want it there anymore... i can think of a few other places to shove that stick...
Anyways February alot will be going on as well... Girl scout cookies to arrive, scrapbook expo (looking for someone to go with), among other stuff... cant wait and it will go by just as fast as january did...

The Cupcakery

So we went to the Cupcakery while in Vegas… and let me say that you have to try them… They were awesome!!! I bought one for each of us to try… so a total of 5… one was a Peanut butter cupcake with chocolate and vanilla swirl frosting, then another one was a grasshopper (which is a mint and chocolate), there was a chocolate with a cookies and cream frosting, a breakfast coffee cake one with lots of cinnamon, and then I had the chocolate with peanut butter frosting… All so very yummy… It is a must… Tennille and Jacob and Kira drove me over to Henderson to get them and then off to Café Rio… for dinner… another story for another time… but just had to share the yumminess… The story goes that my brothers Fiancé has never had a cupcake… my mother called me the Sunday before we left for Vegas and wanted me to make her some… excuse me where the heck am I going to find time? some of us actually have to go to work… my suggestion hey when we get to Vegas I will go to the cupcakery and pick some up… which is better than anything I could make… They are $3 a pop but so worth it… Check them out the next time you are in town… Comes highly recommended… Thank you Cupcakery…

been busy

this year has been busy already... i have lots to share that i am working on... for instance i went to vegas for two days this last week... Girl scout cookie season is in full swing... i happen to be the troop cookie person... My Brother and his Fiance are in town from Norway so we have had a few things we did with them... I have been working, and have been tired... this time of year even though it is a new year, for me always brings me down instead of the renewal that we all need to refuel our passions and such... The holidays for me should be uplifting however lately it has been overwhelming... I love seeing everyone it is the stress of getting to see everyone in the family... Anyways i am working on stuff...
I even got to spend some time with my fave family in vegas... even if it was dinner and a walk around the bellagios atrium... it was fun... Kira always cracks me up...

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family IRL and in Blogger Land...
I know i am late posting this...
we have had quite the few days... busy with family and work and it is never ending...
I was so excited that Matthew got me the new Zumba wii game
and Pink greatest hits so far... I love Pink and i absolutely enjoy the Zumba...

So hard to get to the class that i so enjoy in Corona... Sabrina is a wonderful instructor... and nothing beats Taking a class with an instructor... so i think this will tide me over in between the classes... I have been planning on attending... My excuse...
Once i am home i dont really want to go anywhere... and it has been raining... Driving in the rain is nuts these days with all the crazy drivers... now i have some kick butt music to listen to in the car while going to work and coming home... Thank you Matthew for a wonderful Christmas...

All he got was a lousy umbrella from me and a desk calender (dodger themed) and a Keurig My K Cup reusuable coffee filter... May you all have a safe and wonderful Christmas... I will have a look back at our 2010 video on here by new years eve... Love you all

After work Lisamarie and I went down to Disneyland and DCA… She had two rides to check off her list of rides ridden at the land and at DCA… Tower of terror and California screamin’… We ended up riding TOT twice and after California Screamin’ we headed over to the LAND and had dinner at plaza inn while watching the fireworks… I had a blast… I love how disney always decorates for the holidays…

We went and saw some of our fave people the BAKERS in Christmas with Scrooge… Lisa reprised her role as Mrs. Dilbert, Tim as the ghost of Christmas future and then Adam and Amanda were in the cast as well… they all did an amazing job as always…

it was a long day… Matthew and I carpooled to work then we drove down to Aliso Viejo where MTV theatre is… we had quiznos for dinner… the sandwich wasn’t that too impressive(don’t get the buffalo chicken sandwich, they don’t put any lettuce or anything on it… meat and cheese and the sauce)… anyways it was a great day overall…

Thank you to the Bakers for letting us come root you on…

Oh and it was interesting to run into someone from my past… The Sunderlands… Mr. sunderland was the Bishop of the Mar Vista Ward(singles) when I attended there… so it was nice to see some familiar faces… what a small world… they were there to support a young lady in their new ward…

I just want to say that we had a great time as always at the IN N OUT Christmas party… however I will have to agree with my wonderful husband I am no fun… Yes you heard it hear first… I am no longer any fun… considering I was not able to last until midnight this year… in my defense I was up at 5am that morning and was unable to take a nap… see I had to work on Saturday… yes I know an ungodly hour to be up on a weekend… but someone has to do it every once and again…

We made it onto The rest of the rides that we were unable to get onto the day before… Such as Millennium force… Boy that ride was massive… but not as massive as Magnum… Oh boy we went to the home of the roller-coaster… We went on Mantis, raptor, blue streak… you name it we went on it… We even went on Excellerators cousin the Dragster… oh boy was that fun…We also went on the Skyway… brought back some fond memories of Disneyland… I added some more photos of the skyline and such and the beauty that is this park… We had a blast at cedar pointe even if Matthew did get sick…

I am thankful for a few things… Number 1 Being my Husband Matthew… Number 2 Being my Family (my mom, my dad, and even my brother)

Number 6… My new found family on my Randy’s side… I met My “DAD” for the first time in December 2009 and was finally able to meet my sister and her family in august 2010… I am so grateful that I have other siblings that are closer in age to me… and that we now have somewhat of a relationship… it is a work in progress… My sister and I hit it off and I can not wait to meet my brother and my Sister in law and my two nephews… In may I was able to meet my Step mom Karen up at the Big Bear Cabin… it was a lovely day… unfortunately I didn’t take any photos…

So I have a lot to be thankful for… rounding out my top 10… are as follows

#7 Health, #8 roof over our heads, #9 Jobs and #10 food on the table…

Day 4

Road trip to Sandusky… Yep we did it again… well another 4 hour drive road trip in our Trip… Trip…It was a nice drive… for the time that I was actually awake… I have no shame in saying that I took a nap on the way there… There were lots of Farms and Fields on the way there… we even passed through Westchester, OH… where some of my friends lived for awhile when they lived in OHIO…First stop was Cedar pointe…Getting through those gates… then since it was lunch time we decided we were hungry and had to pick a place to eat…We wanted BBQ so we chose Famous Dave’s… I have only eaten there once before in Vegas with Tennille, Jacob and Kira… YUMMY food… While we waited for our food to arrive we looked at the park map and was trying to decide which coaster to go on first… BTW Famous Daves is out on the marina outside of the park… For those that don’t know Cedar Pointe is located on Lake eerie… A quant island full of Roller coasters…We finally got our order and it was a lot of food I mean this wasn’t for no 2 people this was food to feed a small army… which we would've been able to take a doggy bag… that could've been our dinner too… Everything tasted so good… I got full fast… the coleslaw was even good… For those that don’t know me… I don’t care for coleslaw… Only in rare occurrences… this was one of them… So once we paid our bill we headed back into the park to figure out which ride we would ride first…Which at this point I cant remember our first coaster ride from the park… so many great rides… I think we ultimately decided on The corkscrew (which when at Knott's Berry Farm was my fave) which we had to ride… (don’t we have to ride every one?) So this one right here scared me a little it was a bit of a steep climb… but it was so much fun… it was a blast… I loved that once you got to the top of the roller coasters that you could see the lake from there and the beautiful scenery… At times I wish that I could just pause to enjoy the view before going down… Here is Matthew in line for something… not sure what… We didn’t take too many photos this time around… he told me to leave the electronics in car for the most part…These two days were one without the phones, and at times with out the camera… I did take some photos just not as much as I normally would've taken if I had the full permission of the Judge… So the next ride that we went on was this Wicked Twister… I lost my goody ouch less hair clip on this baby… The downer is that I can not find them anymore to replace it… now I am down to 1… Reminds me of De Ja vu at Magic mtn… Which happens to be Matthews fave… Its Tall, Fast and Scary… All of the factors that Matthew loves… so these were some of the photos… We had a blast… We even hit the praying mantis at night… so yeah we had a great time… So much too do… and so little time…

Day 3

We started out our day with going to the Museums at union station… Boy that was fun, and we learned a lot about the history of Ohio and Cincinnati… More and some of the same that we learned on the boat ride…The top photo I am riding in one of the trolley cars… and to the left Matthew is checking out one of the exhibits about war time in Ohio… from different periods… What the Ohioans did to help with the War effort… Next is a photo of Union station… This is their Grand central station the hub before there were jet planes… Gorgeous… Now it houses 3 museums and an Omnimax theatre … The best thing about the museums was finding out that the ice cream shop sold Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream… YUMMY !!! Shareable not that I am willing to admit that it was better to share than to have one on my own… Because if I had had one on my own it would not have been a pretty site… Thank you Matthew for suggesting that we share… so on our way back to the hotel room we decided to stop at White castle for lunch… YUCK… that’s all I am going to say… not yummy at all… We finally got our rest and headed over to Kings Island and waited in line for over an hour before they let us in… and boy was it a fun evening… Make no mistake there are no chickens in our party!!!! We rode the new ride Diamondback which was way scary… Fast and tall and steep… Loops and turns… it was a hot mess… My fave was when it went through the back woods of the park… gorgeous… and then the best ride of the night was BEAST… almost 5 mins long and a wooden coaster to beat…

Sorry about the delay on everything… and the double posting with day 2 and the last day of the trip… I was hoping to have this all wrapped up before the end of the month… Oh well what can you do? Life gets a little busy and crazy all at the same time…

Day 2

Let me just say that Day 2 was a bit more relaxing… Got up a bit later in the morning… Took our time getting ready… Only two things planned was going to the Newport Kentucky aquarium and taking a paddle boat ride up and down the Ohio river… So since our Riverboat ride wasn’t until 230pm we had some time to kill… I have been to the Newport Aquarium before with Tennille in the summer of 2001… They had a whole section on sharks.. and the shark tank OMG was huge…

I am pretty sure we saw this same alligator/crocodile… When we were there in 2001… Then this penguin the small one in the center kept pacing back and forth … Very nervous fellow… I think that the sharks are the aquariums bread and butter… All gorgeous and big… They were almost everywhere… All facts about the sharks everywhere you went… Those things can get huge… I mean did you see this shark posing with Matthew and I? Oh and they had the neatest little birds in the bird sanctuary… this one right here was so cute and colorful… So then it was time for lunch and we ate at Penn Station… YUMMY… and Then it was off to our riverboat excursion… (our 3 hour tour… HEHEHE)Our Captain for the time We took lots of pictures here I am reading the info on the information newspaper giving some facts and some history about the Ohio River… Then there is Matthew just hanging out and enjoying our leisurely stroll on the river…We learned a lot about the Ohio River and even some stuff about Kentucky… However what all that was I can not remember… it was interesting at the time… I promise…This bridge below does it look familiar… It is a smaller replica of the Brooklyn bridge… Rather the Brooklyn bridge is the larger replica of this bridge… Its true.. We saw Mt. Adams from the river and the beautiful church at the top of the hill… we saw the baseball and football stadium… we then decided to head back to the hotel room… we were exhausted… and we ended up going to Skyline chili for dinner… Matthew looked at me and I just told him that there was cinnamon in the chili and he said “oh is that why it tastes like oatmeal chili?” Yes Honey that is why… Over by this particular Skyline there was a waterpark that was closed (who in OHIO wants to go to a water park in October?) but Matthew wanted his picture with the statues… Then we headed over to The great wolf lodge which just happens to be next door to Kings Island… So we went in and checked it out… it was neat and different for those with families… Who knows maybe one day we will go… Just not anytime soon… They had a big indoor waterpark… Oh and side note this is one of them that were featured on UNDERCOVER BOSS the one that we went to happened to be where the waitress was from in Mason, OH… Matthew got an invisible ink book, which kept us entertained on the plane home… but matthew also wanted to snap some other shots of his lovely park… Below is a picture of our drive back to our motel… It was a lovely little town… and the great thing was that we were not so far from the park… More to come later… enjoy… What did we do on DAY 3?

Monday Columbus day... the 11th of October... A day when schools, banks and all federal jobs are closed down... A good day for travel... so quiet so nice... we left our hotel in Sandusky Oh as of 10am eastern time which was a good idea... we were going to head out as of no later than 11am since our flight was going to be taken out of Columbus OH airport at 455pm est... we needed to fuel up and get Matthew some drugs NYQUIL day time cold reliever before we were to turn the car back into enterprise rent a car... we drove the back Roads forever to even get to the 71 going towards Columbus... Oh my!!! Don't get me wrong it was a beautiful drive... just long. We got on the 250 somewhere in Sandusky and took it all the way to Ashland... and boy is Ashland a huge town, or whatever they call it in OHIO... Beautiful old craftsmanship... Would've loved to take some good pictures of what we passed by... If we would've known our flight was delayed then maybe we would've stopped somewhere and enjoyed the scenery... Who knew it would really take 2.5 hours from Sandusky to Columbus...
At least we had Homer J Simpson to guide us on our way!!! or else we would've lost our minds like back in Texas... anyways... we survived... we have plenty of time in the airport to enjoy each other and the Columbus airport... I finally got my Swedish fish and my pumpkin spice latte... I know Coffee... gasp... Its the only one i really enjoy to have every once in awhile... cause with my migraines i cant have the Coffee it does sometimes aggravate them...
We waited till 330 pm to eat, and all that was open as in food palaces besides the Starbucks is a chili's too... so odds are we are going to eat at Chili's... I have plenty of pictures from our drive down from Sandusky to the airport... we departed from gate A2 at 535pm EST...
